of republican delegates and nearly a fifth of democratic delegates will be up for grabs in about a dozen states. what happens today could dramatically re-shape each nomination race but the latest national cnn/orc poll shows hillary clinton and donald trump will be tough to beat. nationally, clinton has 55-percent support among democrats. trump has more than triple the support of his nearest rival marco rubio. (margaret hoover, republican strategist) remember there are a lot of late deciders but i think it's still quite likely that donald trump will win on super tuesday. its been a rough couple of days for donald trump. first he was attacked relentlessly by marco rubio during last week's debate. then, he declined to immediately disavow support from former ku klux klan leader david duke in an interview on sunday. (donald trump, (r) presidential candidate) i don't know anything about david duke. despite having distanced himself before and after that interview. enough. and on monday black lives matters protesters interrupted trump's event. rubio has taken full advantage -- trying to label trump a con-man and even taking shots at his appearance. lynneve nunez says police told her the man was shot in the shoulder and is expected to be okay. "the police officer said from his knowledge that it was just a wanderer, just a random guy, possibly homeless, they got a call that he was wandering around with a gun in his hand." police say the man's weapon was a replica. metro says none of the officers involved were injured... police have not released the man's name or said whether or not he'll face charges. electric car plants are being built across the state as auto makers roll out the latest and greatest technology. but with new construction - comes big problems. fox5's shannon moore is live in studio with the latest protests at the tesla factory outside reno... and what it means for our electric future. union officials meeting this morning with roughly 300 workers who walked off the job at tesla motors'

manufacuturing plant in northern nevada monday -- they claim the company is hiring too many out of state employees tesla however, released a statement, saying they're in compliance with all state requirements. by law and by contract, they need to employ a minimum of 50 percent nevadans on site - and -- at last audit in december, 68 percent of construction workers were from nevada --- meaning, they actually exceeded the requirements. now no formal complaints have been filed with the state or the u.s. labor department just yet. if workers chose not to return to today - that would obviously affect production - and put a real damper on a event happening later this morning.. governor sandoval plans to host a ribbon cutting for an electric car charging station in beatty. the new "electric highway" consists of several ports between vegas and reno to help drivers complete their electric journey. officials are also hoping these charge stations will bring tourists and business to the smaller towns like tonopah and fallon. its unclear whether officials there will comment on the tesla maters..

the next half hour.. an update on "faraday future's" plant that's being built right here in vegas.. the setbacks they're facing and the latest on construction. another student steps forward, claiming she too received inappropriate text messages from a local teacher. yesterday, ryne brinks pleaded guilty to sending inappropriate texts to a student at southern highlands prepatory school. now, the parent of a student at another middle school is coming forward, saying her 13-year-old daughter had a four-month-long relationship with brinks. the student told police she and brinks exchanged and pictures. metro police say it's important for parents to have access to their kids social media and phones. "in this day and age a lot of kids and using social media as a way of communicating, and very important that parents have access to their social media as well as make sure they can phones to see text

that." the "las vegas township justice court" says in exchange for a guilty plea... they may drop the pornography charges related to the case involving the middle school student. the north las vegas man accused of kidnapping a teenage girl from arizona and sexually assaulting her is due before a judge today. jimmy kim is facing 83 counts, including a use of a minor in producing porn charge. police say kim abducted the teenager and took her to his home in north las vegas last december where he sexually abused her. she managed to escape. three other victims have come forward saying kim abused them as well. kim is being held on a one-and-a- half million dollars bail. some big changes are coming to the clark county school district. yesterday, superintendent pat skorkowsky delivered his annual state of the district address. he started off with some great news, saying three

u-s department of education as being among the top in the world. we're also seeing accomplishments in graduation rates. and kindergarten students will now get a full-day experience. teachers will also get higher pay, starting at 40 thousand dollars a year. "we're actually going out to teachers who have 1 to 3 years of experience and teachers that have 29 plus years experience and actually getting them because those are the teachers who would be willing to move " the future is also looking bright for superintendent skorkowsky. he recently signed a new two- year contract. after almost a year in space... nasa astronaut scott kelly will plant his feet back on earth. kelly is ending his 341 day mission in space today. that means kelly has officially been aboard the international space station longer than any other american astronaut. kelly and a russian cosmonaut served as test subjects on the international

scientists could study the affects of space travel on the human body. it's all part of nasa's goal to make sure astronauts can handle a trip to mars. nasa is investing in the potential revival of supersonic jet travel. the space agency has granted a 20- million dollar contract to lockheed martin to develop a passenger jet that can fly faster than the speed of sound. nasa says the plan is intended to make flying safer, greener and quieter. in our health headlines... a new "super lice" outbreak has health officials scratching their heads. why this strain of lice is resistant to over-the-counter treatments. chances are your lawn is yellow and your plants are thirsty. see why today you can turn those drippers back on.

"it shouldn't have happened, but we did receive an apology from the andrean principal so hopefully we can learn to forgive and forget and make sure it never happens again." both schools say the incident is under investigation. and should serve as a learning lesson to all of the students involved. a google self- driving car... drove itself straight into a city bus. the crash happened in l.a. on valentines day. according to an accident report... a self-driving lexus was going only 2-miles an hour-- trying to get around some sandbags on a city street. at the same time-- a bus was going 15-miles an hour. the lexus thought the bus would yield. it didn't--and the self driving car hit the right side of the bus. no one was injured in the crash. google says it's taking some responsibility for the accident. nascar's finest are rolling into town this week... but there's one big change this year... they cancelled the hauler parade! according to the las vegas motor speedway... the popular parade won't make its way

this saturday at 7 p-m. the mob museum has a new attraction... el chapo. today the museum will unveil its exhibit showcasing the notorious drug lord. to have cars of recently approved a 250 incentive package to build an manufacturing plant in clark county's apex industrial park. faraday future chose north las the perfect location to build dollar plant because of the enthusiastic encouraging tax environment and its california headquarters. it promises to employ about 45 hundred workers with a hourly rate of 22 dollars. business proposal comes some challenges recent posts the company is running out money, others say violating air quality regulations at its one article even quote a former executive, claiming the company isn't prepared to handle production.. saying new technology won't be ready in time. according to the guardian article, faraday future was supposed to showcase a fully working prototype at ces this year.. but they ran out of time and had to produce a non - fuctionin static

year-old kamesha gilmore were making a u-turn on boulder highway at russell, when lee slammed into their car going about 120 miles an hour. his blood alcohol level was also more than double gabrielle's mother says there's no justice... no matter what sentence lee gets. "such a painful loss and again i'm sure it's painful loss for his family but htey have the comfort of they can still talk to him. they still get to see him i dont get that comfort unless i go to a cemetery and that's just too much." lee was out on bond for another d-u-i charge last march. he's now facing up to 40 years behind bars. prosecutors say they could push for the maximum sentence. lee's sentencing is set for next month. in national headlines, we're learning more about the teenager who

"we heard this bang, i thought then the police were gonna go and there were going to be more but nothing happened. yeah i the 14 year old handgun and the cafeteria morning at this ohio junior-senior high school. the teen tried to run away-- but was caught. the victims are expected to be okay. emotional testimony was heard from sports reporter, erin andrews as she took the stand in the civil trial against her stalker. "it was everywhere and it was publicity stunt you know..espn scandal, she's doing this to herself. my naked body was on the front page of the new york post like they had put bars over my body parts." the sportscaster and tv host is suing stalker michael barrett and the hotel for 75-million dollars. barrett used a peephole from an adjoining room in 2008 to record

he was eventually convicted in connection with the incident and sent to prison for two and a half years. apple will not be forced to unlock an iphone owned by a convicted drug dealer. the government requested apple break the phone's security code without wiping out the data. the judge ruled the government cannot force apple to assist the government's investigation against its will. the computer company is currently being pressured by federal investigators to break into 13 iphones across the country. that includes the iphone belonging to one of the san bernardino shooters. a fallen officer is remembered after she was gunned down on her first day on the job. domestic disturbance call ... 32-year-old ronald hamilton, an active duty army staff sergeant, has been charged in connection to her death. the family of late supreme court justice antonin scalia will hold a memorial in his honor today. it will be held at the mayflower hotel in washington d-c. scalia died on february 13-th in texas. multiple supreme court justices are expected to give remarks at the memorial service. a u-s navy seal is awarded the medal of honor for his bravery after helping rescue a hostage from the taliban. u-s senior chief special warfare operator edward byers is now the fifth navy seal to be awarded the honor. in 2012, byers helped rescue an american civilian being held hostage by the taliban in afghanistan. the pentagon says he used hand-to-hand combat with a number of assailants and used his own body to shield the hostage. but the rescue

the first super tuesday votes are in. they're from new zealand. american democratic voters living there, voted just after midnight. bernie sanders is leading this one. he's beating hillary clinton 21 to 6. wellington is the first of 111 cities in 41 countries outside the u.s.... to vote in the primary for democrats abroad. republicans living overseas, won't be able to do the same though. they have to vote by absentee ballots in state primaries. today marks the biggest day in the presidential primary so far. voters in twelve-states and one u-s territory will cast their ballots.. a new nationwide c-n-n/o-r-c poll says donald trump has 49-percent of national support. in recent days he's also secured some high profile endorsements. the downside-- he's facing condemnation from the party

arizona are allowing wild burros from north western arizona to be adopted. this because the burros are overpopulating the area. the animals have been causing accidents on highways. and limiting vital food and water resources for other animals. mohave county supervisor steve moss says the plan would be a compassionate approach to reducing the population of wild burros. federal officials reportedly met with senator john mc-cain last week to discuss the proposal. one of america's most breathtaking national parks is getting some new names. we're talking about yosemite... as of this morning-- the historic ah- wah-nee hotel is the majestic yosemite hotel.... curry village campground will be named half dome village. and badger pass ski resort is yosemite ski and snowboard area. the park service announced last year it would change the names of some of it's parks and attractions... after failing to reach agreement

facebook page blew up with this news... cracker barrel officially breaks ground in north las vegas tomorrow. the restaurant chain is opening two locations in the valley. the north las vegas restaurant is on craig and losee the other will be on dean martin drive near the silverton. both restaurants are expected to open in late july. right now, the closest cracker barrel location is in kingman, arizona. elvis presley and las vegas... go hand in hand. but now, an elvis- themed museum chapel are closing. "vivvvvvaaa las vegas " the exhibit boasted more from presley's graceland home... officials from the westgate say they contract with the tenants of the museum but now after 10 months they're closing their doors. they say its due to a dispute over money. says they're now working directly with the estate of

company is hiring too many out of state employees tesla however, released a statement, saying they're in compliance with all state requirements. by law and by contract, they need to employ a minimum of 50 percent nevadans on site - and -- at last audit in december, 68 percent of construction workers were from nevada --- meaning, they actually exceeded the requirements. now no formal complaints have been filed with the state or the u.s. labor department just yet. if workers chose not to return to today - that would obviously affect production - and put a real damper on a event happening later this morning.. governor sandoval plans to host a ribbon cutting for an electric car charging station in beatty. the new "electric highway" consists of several ports between vegas and reno to help drivers complete their electric journey. officials are also hoping these charge stations will bring tourists and business to the smaller towns like tonopah and fallon. its unclear whether officials there will comment on the tesla maters.. now coming up in the next half

annual state of the district address. he started off with some great news, saying three c-c-s-d schools were named by the u-s department of education as being among the top in the world. we're also seeing accomplishments in graduation rates. and kindergarten students will now get a full-day experience. teachers will also get higher pay, starting at 40 thousand dollars a year. the perfect location to build their billion dollar plant because of the enthusiastic workforce, encouraging tax environment and close proximity to its california headquarters. it promises to employ about 45 hundred workers with a hourly rate of 22 dollars. but with any new business proposal comes some challenges recent posts online suggest the company is running out money, others say the auto maker is violating air quality regulations at its site. one article even went as far as to quote a former executive, claiming the company isn't prepared to handle production.. saying new technology won't be ready in time. according to the guardian article, faraday future was supposed to showcase a fully working prototype at ces this year.. but they ran out of time and had to produce a non - fuctionin static concept car costing the company 2 million dollars. we reached out to the company for comment, they told us they're right on track to start construction in april. they say a majority of their workers will be from nevada they claim they've also got protection set up
