light sped through the sky. we first started getting reports on this fireball around six last night. and now, we're hearing reports it was russian space debris. the c-s-n planetarium director says there is a tremendous amount of space junk and it does come in every so often. he also says there are thousands of meteors everyday. a bright streak of light that's not manmade is a meteor. if it makes it to the ground and someone finds it- that's a meteorite it's pretty common but it's not that common to see one this bright basically over an area where there's a lot of people and apparently this was seen over a large area... a very bright meteorite fireball.. but it could have been a piece of space junk entering the atmosphere too. n-h-p says they were called to

springs area to were called to the mountain springs area to investigate reports of impact but didn't find anything. while we were seeing things in the sky.... some people in reno were feeling the earth move... after an earthquake hit last night. the u-s geological survey reports a 4-point- 4 magnitude quake hit the area. reports of the earthquake started coming in around 6 last night. in more local news, the woman the woman accused of driving into several people on the strip is due in court this morning. the district attorney's office officially filed charges, against 24-year-old lakeisha holloway. she is being held at the clark county detention center without bail.

the latest. district attorney calling lakeisha holloway actions which went off to las vegas blvd. and onto the street inexcusable and horrendous now here at the strip the memorial to honor the victims including the person that lost their life keeps growing and the district attorney says they're taking the whole scene into consideration when filing charges. " my thoughts are that what she did is inexcusable. this was not a lady that ran a red light, this was not a lady that made a wrong turn. this was a lady that turned onto a sidewalk, ran over many people, continued to drive on a sidewalk, went back on to the street, and then back onto an intersection where there was a crowd of people." the district attorneys office filed three charges against the las vegas strip crash suspect... and these three charges alone carry heavy penalties... officials are saying the death penalty is a consideration for her murder charge, her 3-year-old daughter, who was in the car at the time of the crash, is currently with child protective services and a new nevada

" i think its a fair thing to say its a starting point because i do anticipate multiple charges." holloway didnt give a reason as to why she ended up on the sidewalk but did tell police she was having a stressfull day and had been living in her car while in vegas for about a week... holloway's family has spoken out in her defense, saying they dont believe she rammed into people on purpose... " you know shes exhausted, she's not this villain that theyre creating her to be." in a press conference the president of the oregon based non- profit holloway was a part of spoke of his positive experience her... " lakeisha was a rolemodel, she was a rolemodel for many of the youth that we serve in our community." he said holloway gave no signs of trouble when she graduated the portland opportunities industrialization center, but he mentioned they lost contact with her once she graduated and moved away... million dollars for the man accused of shooting and wounding a metro police officer. "he put so many people at risk. and he severly injured this officer. and he took a large portion of metro from their ordinary duties while they were searching for him. " teag fox appeared before a judge tuesday, metro says fox shot their officer last thursday, while the officer was investigating an unrelated disturbance. it took a six hour manhunt to find fox. the officer is expected to recover. a public defender for fox argued his client did not have a previous criminal history. fox is due back in court january 6th. metro is updating the public on what led to three separate officer involved shootings last week. two of the shootings happened last monday. ) "we never know what is the

for why this person wants to hurt themselves or commit suicide. and so we want to peacefully resolve those" " these are images... from a standoff that lasted nearly eight hours... at a home near craig and nellis. police say brenda kimberling came out of the home armed with a rifle and pointed it at police right before she was shot. later that monday night-- police were investigating three men for robbery, when the father of one of them pointed a gun at officers. officers fired at the man.. he died on the scene. the u-s sergeant accused of walking off a base will face another pre-trial. seargeant bowe bergdahl will go before a court- martial on january 12- for charges including desertion and misbehavior before the enemy. bergdahl did not enter a plea during a hearing yesterday. he was held for five years by the taliban after being captured when he walked off a base in 2009 in afghanistan. he was released in a prisoner swap last year. a gun and badge were stolen from a secret service

of 14 deadly crashes this year alone. eight of them were pedistrians. police set out to educate the public on pedestrian and vehicle safety. fox five's cyndi lundeberg ( has more on their efforts. you girls know youre not supposed to jaywalk right and look both ways? metro police say they hope educating drivers and pedestrians will save lives. 'sgt grahma here with the police department were out here talking about pedestrian safety ' tuesday morning officers passed out informational flyers near the busy stretch of roadway.. this year 14 people have died along boulder highway... eight of them pedestrians. metro police hope educating drivers and pedestrians will save lives. capt owen: all of those have been pedestrian related errors metro police say boulder highway is deadly all year long for pedestrians not using the crosswalks... and is a concern for officers between the hours of 6am up until midnight. william lamar ped- people dont use the cross walk a lot especially on the flamingo part a problem with the highway is a lack of crosswalks.
