protests another night of flash bangs and police in riot gear.... but is there an end in sight. and major protests expected here in las vegas tonight... it all was organized on social media. what metro has to say about it. plus-- a teenager accused of vandalism, and then posting it on facebook. this morning-- opening up for the first time. news -- overnight four people have been killed after an explosive device detonated at bagram airfield. that's a us military base in afghanistan. officials say at least 14 peole have also been hurt. the taliban claimed responsibility for the attack. the taliban is saying it was a suicide bomber but officials

breaking overnight... anti-trump protests continue... from coast to coast. in these images coming in overnight-- you can see people taking to the streets in major cities like atlanta, new york city, los angeles and dallas. people say their protesting...for another president. while some protest remained peaceful...violence broke out in portland. at least there, but is expected to be ok. our affiliates are reporting... people throwing burning objects at police officers . those officers in riot gear... had to use flash bangs and pepper spray to disperse the protesters... but it didn't stop them. a curfew is in place for those 18 and younger. our affiliates also reporting...atleast two people have been taken into custody overnight. las vegas police are preparing

philadelphia. a guy was pulled over for driving with a handicap placard in his windshield. next thing the officer knew he was hanging on to the side of the truck as the driver sped away, plowing into a parked car. the officer draws his gun as the suspects starts to run. suddenly, due to the scuffle, the officer's gun accidentally nats - brown: you shot me! officer: no, i didn't. the man shot is expected to recover. he is also facing criminal charges. as for the officer, he is on leave pending a routine internal investigation. students and parents at a high school in redding, california are furious after a student began handing out fake

thousands of people lined the streets of downtown las vegas yesterday to honor the men and women.... who have served our country. our very own.... beth fisher and dayna roselli hosted..... "the annual las vegas veterans day parade". the city estimates.... about -30- thousand people... attended. unfortunately... several veterans were not apart of the veteran's day festivities. the group "veterans for peace" signed up toa but, organizers kicked them out claiming they were spreading a political message. "because of our message of peace and not war and not militarism, they decided we shouldn't be in their parade." metro was called and one of the veterans was detained. some people watching were upset the veterans were not allowed to be in the parade, the good thing is.. no one was arrested and everyone went home safe.

morning which is still warmer than where they should be. to start off the week highs will approach 80 for monday with nothing but sunshine out of their homes. it's burning in the mountains of north carolina and tennessee. in large parts of this region it has not rained for nearly two months causing extremely dry conditions, perfect for a fast moving fire. and now, officials are worried about smoke damage houses...and people's health. they have already arrested two people in kentucky, and are looking for one more. post-election anger is spilling into classrooms across the country. recently, many schools sent letters home with their students after some disturbing scenes in classrooms and cafeterias. earlier this week.. some students at a michigan middle school were reportedly heard yelling 'build that wall.' in pennsylvania.. there were reportedly chants of 'white power' in a school and in woodside, california.. this cellphone video shows a trump supporter at a high school being attacked by another student students fighting sot jade: and she said, 'you support trump. you hate mexicans." in this video.. a teacher recounts emotional talks with students. sot from mic video: "scared, confused, betrayed, disconnected from the very vision of this country" that same teacher went on to

teachable moment than now. facebook post - v new this moring a police officer in michigan is being accused of posting a racial slur on facebook. the police officer is accused of writing "go home monkeys", on a live feed of an anti-trump protest. officials say it was in response to black protesters in the facebook live feed. the post was reported to the officer's superiors who are now conducting an investigation. it's disturbing and it's concerning." the officer's name has not yet been released but he has been suspended pending the completion of the investigation. as people continue to protest in north dakota over the pipeline there, volunteers are flooding in to help prepare for winter, winter in north dakota can be extremely harsh with heavy winds, low tempeartures and snow storms. officials were hoping the colder months would cause most of the protester to go home,

investigator darcy spears asks,.. are they a necessary nuisance or downright dangerous? these images of 18-year-old maggie mortensen... bandaged and bed- ridden... :46 marlene: went up to the hospital and seen her on a breathing machine. ... are burned in her mother's mind. : 58 marlene: i almost collapsed on the floor. left in critical condition with severe road rash, a fractured skull and a brain bleed, maggie is lucky. driving the scooter, didn't die. contact 13 has documented far too many scenes of mangled scooters and lost lives. the danger growing as more of these two- wheeled vehicles take over valley roads. /nat break/ metro has seen six fatal scooter accidents so far this year, which means, on average, someone is dying every other month. people crash on scooters about every other day with 175 collisions in metro's jurisdiction so far this year.

president-elect donald trump has named his transition team and with it, announced his first shake up. trump has now named vice president-elect mike pence as the head of the team. not new jersey governor chris christie, who had been leading the team for the last few months leading up to the "i am proud to have run the pre- election phase of the transition team along with a thoroughly professional and dedicated team of people." sources familiar with the process say intensifying scrutiny over christie's role in the "bridgegate scandal" in were convicted, led to pence being chosen as transition head. christie himself has denied wrongdoing over "bridgegate" christie will serve as vice-chairman along with alabama senator jeff sessions, former new york city mayor rudy giuliani, doctor ben carson, former house speaker newt gingrich and retired army lieutenant general mike flynn. the announcement comes as trump sat down for an interview after meeting with president obama and said he will look to keep certain aspects of obamacare, a far cry from what he promised
