a big construction project is causing some safety concerns for people in one part of the valley. 13 action news reporter yasmeen hassan took a closer look.. and she's getting some results. there was just a lot of roadwork performed on east tropicana to, among other things improve safety. however a safety issue still exists on tropicana at the crosswalk near morris st. on the north side of the street there is a bus stop just east of morris st. when a bus is stopped at the bus stop, it blocks the view of the crossw people trying to use the crosswalk while the bus is parked there are at risk because westbound traffic cannot see them until the pass in front of the bus and are in the middle lane of traffic. thank you to the viewer who brought this concern to the attention of the rtc. now that our transit amenities team is aware of the issue at this particular stop, within the next few weeks they plan to move it farther away from the crosswalk to ensure the safety of transit passengers and pedestrians.
