the solo- car crashed into the center divide and then caught on fire. a sig-alert was issued at 12:16 a.m. with the on-ramp blocked by the fiery car. c-h-p officers say the driver managed to get out of the car but was then taken to san francisco general hospital. the driver is expected to survive. the sig alert was lifted just before one a-m when the >> in santa monica, a twin engine airplane crashed into a storage handlegar, killing those on board. it happened yesterday afternoon after the landing jet veered off to runway at the santa monica airport. the crash also started a large fire.

neighborhood program focuses on combatting gun and gang community outreach and >> two days of raving at the beyond wonderland music festivalat the shoreline ampitheatre led to many arrests. the event started sturday night. mountain view police reports over 100 people have been arrested at the event. they say the arrests are drug-related. police issued warning prior to the event about a crackdown on illegal drugs. many nearby residents complained about the party's loud noise. responded to those complaints on twitter.saying they looked into the concerns but that the event is within agreed noise levels. >> a 24-year-old man has died near universal studios after he exited a party bus and was struck by vehicles on highway 101. the accident happened shortly after 12:15 early sunday morning. c-h-p officers say the victim was ejected from the limousine bus and landed on the freeway. he was subsequently struck by motorists. it was unknown how fast the party bus was traveling or what led to the man to be ejected from the vehicle.

the cause of the man's death is under investigation. no one has been arrested. >> the shooter accused of killing 12 people in an aurora colorado theater will be back in court today. james holmes has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to 166 charges. today's motions hearing will deal with issues related to reporter jana winter, who learned of and reported on a notebook that holmes reportedly sent to his psychiatrist. holmes' defense contends that leaked information violated a gag order and have called for the officials responsible for the leak to be punished.monday brings another court hearing in the movie theater shootings in aurora, colorado, that left a dozen people dead. james holmes has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to 166 charges, after he was accused of killing 12 people and injuring 58 others during a midnight screening of the batman movie, "the dark knight rises." monday's motions hearing will deal with issues related to reporter jana winter, who learned of and reported on a notebook that holmes reportedly sent to his psychiatrist. holmes' defense contends that leaked information violated a gag order and have called for the officials responsible for the leak to be punished. winter is fighting a subpoena.
