near centennial parkway and north 5th street in north las vegas with how the thief managed to get into the store that has heavy security in place. ((mauricio marin)) >> it appears the burglar broke through this window. there's shattered glass outside this empty retail space right next door to the gun store. and the suspect somehow made his way through the wall bypassing motion detectors and security gates. >> the owner of the new robbery happened at around four this morning. he says they saw one suspect on surveillance camera. that video has been turned over to north las vegas police. detectives have been on scene looking for clues to track down the suspect. at this time though...no description has been released. nearby small business owners say it's unsettling that someone would be so daring to steal so many guns that could end potentially end up in the wrong hands in the valley. police say they they finally caught up with the man responsible for a recent robbery spree... and police tell us he's the son of las vegas mayor pro tem steve ross. police arrested shane ross just before 8 this morning inside the jackpot joanie's near flamingo and rainbow. we're told there have been at have been responsible for. a full list of charges are expected in the coming days./// ((paul joncich)) officials up at nellis air force base... are investigating two crashes that happened in the same day. last night a helicopter went down during a local training mission. four crew members were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. and yesterday morning... a pilot ejected safely... before his plane crashed on public land just off base. the pilot was okay... investigations are underway to find out what led to both crashes.///

earlier this week... a 9- year- old boy was killed when he was attacked by a dog. p been put down... and the attack is raising questions about the breed. plenty of people commented online... angry that the dog's breed is getting a bad rap... they even started a hashtag "don't bully our breed." "she's just like every other dog, she's no different, just because she's a pit bull." local mosquitoes are now transmitting the zika virus in miami beach. (sot: gov. rick scott / r-fl) there are five confirmed as cases of local zika transmission connected to the miami beach area. this brings the total number of local transmissionsto 36 scott says three men and two women contracted the virus in a one and a half square mile of miami beach. the area includes the popular tourist area of south beach. two of the infected are residents, the other three cdc director tom frieden says sea breezes and high rises will make attacking zika in miami beach challenging. the zika virus can cause a devastating birth defect that leaves babies with small heads. i pulled in the parking lot just as ron was coming out in his wheelchair.. )) ((susan schulter/dispatcher he was going out his door to find another method to commit suicide because the first one didn't work )) ((ron cole/vietnam veteran it just hit me all at once- when i lost my dog that's the last straw. lost my wife, lost my dog : (( : so it was kind of like i've had a pretty good life.. now it's time to go home and see the wife )) (( officer kyle hershey/metro pd something about ron really struck a cord with me he and i hit it off we were talking.. )) (( susan schulter/dispatcher i could te affected the officer.. officer hershey.. and so then it started to affect me.. and then officer hershey came up with this idea to go get him a dog from the pound : ")) ((christianne klein)) >> ron was taken to the hospital for treatment.. and eventually released.. officer kyle hershey was one of his first visitors.. (( ron cole/vietnam veteran the day after i came home he was knocking on the door and coming in and asking me how i'm doing and what's going on and i have a puppy, all you have to do is when you're ready we're going to the pound and it's already taken care of... :

((ron cole/vietnam veteran having bernie has just opened up my life and got me moving again and got me out of the apartment again and around people again )) (( officer kyle hershey/metro pd i've seen night and day changes from the first time i h wonderful to have a new friend and be a part of that )) ((christianne klein)) >> on thursday- ron and bernie met the rest of the team of dispatchers and officers who rescued him... and they had yet another surprise.. 500 dollars in gift cards and a full puppy kit to help bernie in his new home...
