are on the roads. from virginia to new jersey, mostly rain. but in pennsylvania, up to massachusetts, several inches of snow expected in areas still cleaning up from last week's monster nor'easter. >> we still don't have power. we haven't even been able to get our insurance company in to see the house. >> reporter: more than 100,000 on the east coast still in the dark. the last storm knocked out power to millions. this incredible video from a dash cam in hyde park, new york, shows a tree taking out power lines. today's nor'easter fueled by a midwest blizzard that brought whiteout conditions, high winds and treacherous roads. >> that is not good. >> reporter: trucks spotted sliding sideways in bismarck, north dakota. hundreds of accidents reported. in massachusetts the coastal community is still recovering. some, under water. >> this is a double whammy for a lot of coastal communities. here we are days later and this neighborhood here is still under water. >> reporter: crews spent tuesday trying to clear up seawalls

after powerful waves caused parts of them to collapse. >> we have massive destruction to our infrastrk church here. >> reporter: several governors in the northeast have already declared states of emergency. kenneth moton, abc news, washington. so far about 2,000 flights have been cancelled. amtrak and greyhound are also limiting service in the northeast. we'll have the latest weather forecast in the moment. porn star stormy daniels is suing president trump saying the so-called huber hush agreement about their affair is invalid. acknowledged paying stormy daniel 130,000, michael cohen said it was his own money. wouldn't say the payment was for. daniels said that cohen is still trying to intimidate her into silence. the resignation of trump's top economic adviser, is now rattling wall street. dow futures tumbling overnight as news of cohn's departure stoked fierce of a trade war.

he's leaving after thwart the president's plan on tariffs on aluminum and steal. abc's lana zak with more. >> reporter: gary cohn is the 24th white house official to resign a little more than a year into the trump administration. president trump has had more high-profile advisers quit or get fired in year one by any recent president by far. earlier in the day, president trump denied he had problems among his staff. >> so many people want to come in. i have a choice of anybody. i could take any position in the white house and i'll have a choice of the ten top people having to do with that position. everybody wants to be there. >> reporter: but in the case of cohn, the situation became untenable following the battle of the president's interest in tariffs on aluminum and steel. which cohn opposed. just two months earlier, cohn

and the president joked about rumors about his possible departure. >> come here, gary, are you happy? i think he's pretty happy. >> yes, i'm happy. how's that? >> come here. gary hopefully will be staying for a long time. >> reporter: he's one of about a dozen names that have been floated possibly on their way out of the administration. and president trump had even begun his day on twitter, speculating there might be some staff changes that he'd like to see happen. lana zak, abcnews. kellyanne conway is accused of breaking federal ethics rules. they say conway violated the hatch act by speaking in favor of roy moore and against doug jones in two interviews. government officials are prevented from using their position to influence campaigns. the trump administration is suing california over its pro-sanctuary immigration laws. state officials are vowing to fight back.

the justice department says the policies are keeping federal immigration officials from doing their jobs. california federal agents seeking to detain and deport undocumented immigrants. democrats in texas are starting to feel a little hopeful they'll be able to turn that red state blue. party turnout for yesterday's primary was the highest in 16 years. still they were outnumbered by republicans. we do inial senator ted cruz will face democratic congressman beto on rourke as cruz tries for a second term. both won their primaries. the race for the democratic nomination in the governor's race will go to a may runoff. moving on right now, president trump says the news that north korea may consider ending its nuclear program is positive. but he's taking a wait and see approach.

an unprecedented meeting between kim jong-un and officials from the south brought news that kim is open to discussing denuclearization. now south korean officials say kim indicated military threats against his nation would have to removed. time now for a look at your weather on this wednesday morning. good morning. as we take a look at this nor'easter for wednesday going into thursday, it will continue to track towards the northeast. plans will be altered, travel disruptive. possible coastal flooding from atlantic city up towards bangor, as far as the amount, 12 to 2 feet of snow throughout portions of the northeast, towards new york, at least up to a foot of snow, possibly a foot or at least 8 inches of snow in the philadelphia area. we look for this to continue throughout all of wednesday going into early thursday. i'm accuweather meteorologist paul williams.

what's your conditional plea to the charge of theft of property, guilty or not guilty? >> guilty. >> so that is the now former mayor of nashville, megan barry, pleading guilty to felony theft charges. the once wildly popular mayor stunned the nation in january when she admitted to a two-year affair with her married bodyguard. she has now resigned, agreeing to serve three years' probation and reimburse the city more than

$11,000. her former bodyguard who resigned in january also pleading guilty to felony theft. agreeing to reimburse the city $45,000. a police officer is dead after a shooting at a missouri home. it all happened in the small town of clinton, about 70 miles southeast of kansas city. two other police officers were wounded but are expected to recover. the cops were responding to 911 call with two women screaming in the background. the suspect was later found dead inside that home. this comes seven months after another clinton officer was shot and killed during a traffic stop. and teachers and students will head back to their classrooms across west virginia this morning. the nearly two-week strike that shut down schools across the state, has been settled by a unanimous vote in the state, giving teachers a 5% pay raise. okay, it's official. jeff bezos is the world's richest person, the amazon

providers. prosecutors say 26-year-old billy mcfarland bilked investors out of $26 million. he told the judge that he started with good intentions but then got in over his head. he now faces up to 40 years behind bars. health alert about suspected opioid overdoses. government doctors say hospitals are seeing a 30% increase over the last year. the spike has affected both men and women. in a wide range of age groups and locations. 1 out of every 15 american deaths is now blamed on an overdose. well, karma for a dwi suspect, who learned the dangers of drinking and driving the hard way. he got out of his vehicle, tried to run away and then his car ran over him. police say he's physically okay, he was initially pulled over because his tinted windows were too dark. this is now his third dwi arrest. >> got to fix those windows and

something led to police shooting and kill that man. they found a handgun in the trunk of the car. a third suspect was also arrested. no reports of any injuries to the officers. happening today, attorney general jeff sessions will speak in sacramento. >> the visit a day after the justice department filed a lawsuit against california for sanctuary policies. governor jerry brown and others named as defendants. it's the most aggressive move yet in the trump administration's push to force sanctuary cities and states to cooperate with immigration authorities. kevin deleon who helped write the bill says the law is on california's side. he fears what it the lawsuit could do outside the courtroom. >> this administration will not stop at anything to divide this country and to pit one group against another group. my fear is that crime is going to increase because many
