california to further divide and polarize america. the lawsuit targets three state laws that ban police from asking about immigration status and participation in federal immigration raids, and another law which offers protections from raids at workplaces. state senator kevin de leon who helped write the sanctuary bill says the law is on california's side. however, he fear what's the lawsuit could do outside of the courtroom. >> this administration through jeff sessions is trying to instill fear, chaos and panic in many of our communities. >> in the last few weeks, i.c.e. increased enforcement in northern california, making more than 200 arrests. oakland mayor libby schaaf warned her communities of the raids. i.c.e. officials say she put agents at risk. schaaf says of the lawsuit this administration has tried to portray all immigrants as villains. we know this is a racist lie, and we will shed light on that myth ever day. the alameda county sheriff's office beliefs law enforcement has been forced into a precarious position. if the feds decide to pull

at least a dozen businesses and cars in the area you see on your screen here. abc 7 news reporter katie marzullo has the story from the hardest hit areas. >> shattered glass littered the sidewalk along alum rock avenue. the windows still in place or peppered with these marks, the businesses sprayed by an apparent bb gun. >> this person is not going to get away with it. >> reporter: javier sandoval believes he caught the shooter's car on surveillance video. watch the upper left corner of the screen. that's a black charger driving by when the window is shot out. this is bad. this is something that police should really take very serious. because it's a lot of damage. i mean, it makes you like you want to quit the business and just do something else. >> the restaurant next door was also hit. not only are new windows costing him thousands of dollars, the vandalism also cost him customers. >> they don't know if it's a real shotgun or a baby gun or whatever. people kind of got scared. some people they just go back, they don't want to come inside. >> san jose police said there

gulezian has reaction. >> kevin love is used to scoring big on the basketball court. but today his words outshined everything else. in his essay for the players tribune, everyone is going through something, the nba standout opened up about his panic attack november 5th. he wrote "it was like my body was trying to say to me you're to be die." love was rushed to a local hospital where doctors found nothing physically wrong. and so he started seeing a therapist, who helped him realize, quote, this is an everyone thing, no matter what our circumstances, we're all carrying around things that hurt. and they can hurt us if we keep them buried inside. warriors head coach steve kerr applauded love's decision. >> it doesn't matter if you're an nba player or, you know, the average guy, it's just, you know we're human beings. so i appreciate him coming out. i thought that was great. >> and i think by kevin coming out and speaking about that, hopefully that will inspire other players that are suffering the same kinds of issues.

the pride of monte vista high school in cupertino. el toro was traveling to utah when someone stole it from the trailer. a good samaritan found it on a front lawn near the hotel. the students don't know the robot's condition, but they are, as you can imagine, enormously relieved. the team now has 20 days to patch up el toro for a critical region competition. so they are hard at work getting ready. when the former first lady invites you to a dance party you accept the invitation. ♪ >> that's michelle obama dancing with 2-year-old parker curry. no relation to steph curry. obama invited curry to her washington office after seeing viral videos of curry staring at her portrait at the smithsonian national portrait gallery last week. the former first lady tweeted keep on dreaming big for yourself, and maybe one day i'll proudly look up at a portrait of you. very sweet sentiment. >> too cute. all right. getting to the weather tonight, changes on the way. >> that's right.

it feels like spring, though, beginning to at least. meteorologist sandhya patel is here with the forecast. >> today we had low 70s. tomorrow we're going to see a few more low 70s. some signs of spring, but not quite yet. we're going to see more winter before spring arrives. so from our east bay hills camera, you will notice that the clouds have been increasing all day long. when the sun was setting, the clouds were filtering the sun. and we are going to continue to see more of this tomorrow, despite the knack that the temperatures are going to be a few degrees above average. just like today. we certainly need the rain. and right now on live doppler 7, it's not showing up. but it will be here. take a look at where we stand in terms of percent of normal since october 1. most areas are between 50 to 59% of average. so oakland 59% of normal. you're half of where you should be really for san francisco, santa rosa, moffett field and san jose in the low 50s. rain is coming. but that initial band is not going to amount to a whole lot. want to show you what's going to happen with that rain.

take a look. up in santa rosa going from barely anything to about .2 to almost a third of an inch as we head to late tomorrow night going into the following morning. but we need much more than that. and there is more in the forecast. right now i want to show you the temperatures. they're in the 40s, the 50s. really comfortable thanks to all the clouds around. storm impact scale comes in tomorrow night through thursday morning. it's a light system level 1 on our storm impact scale. scattered light showers, up to a third of an inch between tomorrow night and thursday morning. and the breeze will be light with that initial band. from our emeryville camera, it really is a stunning view. another mild day is expected tomorrow. like showers arrive at night. i'll show you on the accuweather seven-day forecast in just a moment. upper 30s to the low 50s. when you get going tomorrow morning, it's really not going to be very cold as the clouds insulate us tonight going into tomorrow morning. tomorrow afternoon, partly to mostly cloudy in the north bay. for the rest of you, you're going to be seeing filt iered

sun as the clouds increase. most areas will be in the 60s. but we will got a few low 70s from san jose to morgan hill. here is the timeline. tomorrow morning, 8:00 a.m., just some clouds. we go into tomorrow evening. by 6:00, some rain in mendocino county. 7:00 p.m., it's still pretty much there until 11:00 p.m. then it's in the north bay. and we start to see the showers. thursday mornings commute spotty, light between 5:00 and 8:00 a.m. before the next round comes in thursday night, going into friday morning. and then some scattered showers for the latter part of your friday. rainfall totals for this first initial band you will notice some areas will get nothing measurable. like the east bay and the south bay. and then some areas like the north bay will pick up to a third of an inch of rain. a few inches of snow expected in the sierra over the next few days. accuweather seven-day forecast, level 1 system for tomorrow night when the showers arrive. going into thursday morning, and then another batch of rain between thursday night and friday. that's a level 1. chance of rain saturday. don't forget to set your clocks

so you can take a look at the scene. he said he heard police or who he believes was police yelling at someone over a loudspeaker, then he heard one shot fired. he heard some more yelling, after that and then he heard what was a barrage of gunfire, so many shots, he described that he actually thought they were fire crackers. and then he came outside and noticed this very large police investigation. again, we're waiting to hear from sfpd about what exactly happened here in the mission. this is 21st and mission. a lot of people gathering. and of course folks trying to come home and they can't get through the scene. we'll keep you updated with the details as as soon as we get them. that's the latest here live in the mission. ♪ ♪ my husband is probably going to think i'm crazy. he thinks i'm going to see my sister!
