Subject: Blocking moves the plot along
Although superficially similar to "Ten Little Indians", this story lacks much of the creative subtly of Christy's famous mystery.
The secret room filling with water reminds one of a B serial -- except the victims are not seen in the next episode.
The ending is a bit unlikely but still satisfying...
Subject: very slow plot advancement
Subject: Fond Memories
While many will look for its short-comings, I watched it today and, even at 74 yrs old found it entertaining. I highly recommend it.
Subject: Dark Old House - and a good one.

Subject: Good Stuff
Someone sets up an old house full of traps and lures greedy unsympathetic guest with a simple playing of their greedy nature. Most of the people die except the pure ones.
In this case it is an ex-con who is upset about the prison time he received after a deal went bad with the people invited to his isolated island. In stereotypical fashion only the innocent survive and don't say I spoiled the surprise cause that isn't one and that is not the type of surprise to look for in this type of film.
Some interesting tricks and traps permeate the house and are quite entertaining. The characters may be two dimensional villains but the way they interact with one another and blackmail, backstab and try to find a fortune is more than redeeming.
Very good B movie.

Subject: good story
Subject: Good, but lacks tension
Two of my favorite B-movie bad guys, George Zucco and Lionel Atwill, star, but they have only one good scene together.
The MPEG-4 video is OK, but the distortion in the audio is annoying. Still, all the dialog is understandable.
