David Merrill wanted to combine his love of building blocks and computers—he wanted interaction with digital media to be more like interacting with physical products—so he and his colleagues came up with Siftables: cookie-sized computers that can sense motion, sense each other, and can be programmed an innumerable number of ways and used by children and adults for creative learning and fun.
