As part of the Arlington ISD's Specialized Programs, Crow Leadership Academy is a trailblazer. One of only two elementary International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme in Tarrant County, these students are learning more than the three R's.
The focus at Crow is about critical and creative thinking as well as students taking ownership in their community with service and leadership opportunities.
There are 10 tenants throughout the school that includes communication, risk taking, reflection and thinking. The students at Crow Leadership Academy take those tenants to heart both inside and outside the classroom.
“Kids’ gifts are already in them,” Crow Leadership Academy principal Jamie MacDougall said. “It’s our goal and our privilege to uncover those. The reality is we’re not coming from a perspective where we need to pour into you. We’re coming from a perspective where we need to help you be the best that you can be and hone the gifts that are already inside you.”
