Going green....it's not just a catch-phrase here in Durham. For many residents and businesses, protecting Durham's environment is something done each and every day. From recycling to home energy improvements to driving hybrids...going green is quickly becoming a way of life. But, what is the City of Durham doing to help and how can people get involved? This month, "CityLife" Host Beverly B. Thompson is joined by Durham City/County Sustainability Office Manager Tobin Freid to discuss how Durham is leading the way in becoming a truly sustainable community.
For the second half of "CityLife," Larrisha McGill, waste reduction coordinator with the City's Solid Waste Management Department, shares new information about that the types of things that can be recycled as well as upcoming changes involving the proper disposal of old electronics.
