Recognition of visitors present. 5. Council to recognize the Summer Youth Employees for 2017. 6. Council to consider the CONSENT AGENDA: (a) Council to authorize the City Engineer to sign a supplemental agreement to extend the timeframe for the Bringle Ferry Road sidewalk project C-4908E. (b) Adopt a budget ORDINANCE amendment to the FY2016-17 budget in the amount of $42,750 to appropriate Community Planning donations. (c) Adopt a budget ORDINANCE amendment to the FY2016-17 budget in the amount of $7,190 to appropriate donations to the Parks and Recreation and Public Services Departments. 7. Council to receive an update from the Police Chief. 8. Council to receive a report from Community Action Planning Sessions Ambassadors regarding information gathered through a series of meetings held in the Salisbury community. 9. Council to consider a request for a Downtown Revitalization Incentive Grant of up to $63,320 for a rehabilitation project located at 121-123 South Main Street: (a) Receive a report from staff (b) Hold a public hearing (c) Approve a Downtown Revitalization Incentive Grant up to $63,320 for the 121-123 South Main Street rehabilitation project. 10. Council to consider adopting ORDINANCES ordering the Code Services Division Manager to cause the following dwellings to be repaired or vacated and closed and demolished: (a) 1033 Short Street (b) 622 South Caldwell Street (c) 624 West Kerr Street 11. Council to receive a Remedial Action Plan ORDINANCE and consider setting a public hearing for July 11, 2017 to receive public input. 12. Council to consider adopting an ORDINANCE amending Chapter 21-Solid Waste of the Code of the City of Salisbury related to collection and disposal. 13. Council to consider making appointments to various boards and commissions. 14. Council to receive public comment. Public comment will be opened at approximately 6:00 p.m. or at the end of the meeting, whichever comes first. Speakers must sign in prior to the public comment session. 15. City Manager’s Comments. 16. Mayor’s Announcements. (a) The City of Salisbury has been recognized by the North Carolina Department of Labor with a “First Year, Silver Award” for maintaing a safe and healthful workplace in 2016. The Silver Award recognizes an organization in which employees did not miss more than 1.7 days of work, were not restricted from activity, and were not tranferred due to an injury. This was the first safety award for the City of Salisbury. (b) Parks and Recreation will host “Movies in the Park” Friday, June 23, 2017 at City Park where the movie “The Secret Life of Pets” will begin at 9:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, and concessions will be available for purchase. (c) Parks and Recreation will host the first installment of the “Music at the Mural” Concert Series Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 8:00 p.m. on West Fisher Street. Live entertainment will be provided by Cassette Rewind. Bring a chair and enjoy music in the heart of downtown Salisbury. This event is free and open to the public. (d) Applications are now being accepted for the 2017 Salisbury Citizen's Academy. The academy is a 10-week program that meets each Thursday evening from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. beginning September 7 and ending with graduation November 2. Participants will meet at various City facilities and have an inside view of City operations. Applications are available online or by calling the City Clerk's office at 704-638-5224.
